How to set Microbore ‘GA’ tools
1. Rough set the diameter before engaging the GA dial onto the worm.
2. Fully place the GA unit into the Microbore hole and adjust the unit with the GA dial wrench to the required diameter.
3. Once the diameter is achieved, insert the cartridge lockscrew and the encapsulated spring washer. Tighten the lockscrew with a hexagon key ensuring that the encapsulated spring washers are fully compressed.
4. The lockscrew should then be backed off to correct tension with a
180°
turn of the lockscrew
.
How to adjust Microbore ‘GA’ tools
Insert the GA dial wrench into the hex of the worm and turn in a counter-clockwise direction (+) to increase the diameter.
1 graduation of dial wrench = Ø 0,002mm
1 revolution of dial wrench = Ø 0,040mm
To ensure accuracy and allow for any backlash in the gearing system, always advance the GA tool in a counter-clockwise (+) direction moving the tool onto the required diameter.
As soon as you feel any resistance while turning the dial wrench you
MUST STOP
. The encapsulated washer will have reached its limit of adjustment.
The amount of adjustment achievable is dependent on the encapsulated spring washers (see table). Once the limit has be reached, re-tighten lockscrew and back off 180°.
